Abstract:
Objective To study the effects of vibrations on levels of lipid peroxidation and DNA in spermatozoa and the diagnostic significance of vibrations disease.
Methods Male adult rabbits were randomly assigned to control group and three vibration groups, after exposed to vibration for 30 days, semen ROS and SOD were detected by chemiluminescence method and xanthine oxidase method, TUNEL and comet assay test were used to detect the damage of sperm DNA.
Results Compared with control group, after exposed to vibration for 30 days, the levels of semen ROS were much higher[(A group: (34.43±2.56)RLU/s, B group: (51.37±3.86)RLU/s, C group: (59.74±5.64)RLU/s, F=134.42, P<0.05], levels of semen SOD were much lower[A group: (51.03±3.81)nU/ml, B group: (34.60±2.39)nU/ml, C group: (32.93±3.87)nU/ml, F=139.60, P<0.05], the percentage of spermatozoa with damaged DNA were significant higher [TUNEL: A group: (7.25±1.42)%, B group: (10.33±1.37)%, C group: (4.75±2.30)%, F=56.86, P<0.05; comet assay test: A group: (7.08±1.39)%, B group: (10.58±1.08)%, C group: (15.17±1.90)%, F=90.57, P<0.05].
Conclusion The vibration may through improve ROS levels and decrease SOD levels to damage spermatozoa DNA, thereby affecting the male reproduction.
