Abstract:

Hashimoto′s thyroiditis (HT), which is an organ-specific autoimmune disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration and thyroid fibrosis, is the most common thyroid disorder causing hypothyroidism currently. At present, the pathogenesis of HT has not been fully elucidated, genetic and environmental risk factors will affect the occurrence of abnormal immune response in thyroid. CD4+ T lymphocyte-associated cytokines play an indispensable role in the progression of the HT autoimmune thyroid disease. CD4+ T cells can differentiate into two cell forms: the helper T cells and regulatory T cells, and then differentiate into different functional T cells, secreting different cytokines to participate in the body′s immune regulation. A variety of cytokines, such as Interleukin (IL)-6, IL-17, IL-22 and other cytokines participate in and play a role in the progression of HT disease. This article reviews the research progress of the relationship between CD4+ T cells and HT.

Key words: Hashimoto′s thyroiditis, Interleukin-6, Interleukin-17, Interleukin-22
