Abstract:
Objective To explore the diagnostic features of chronic kidney failure accompanied with exfoliative esophagitis.
Methods The clinical data of a patient with chronic kidney failure and exfoliative esophagitis who was admitted to the Gastroenterology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University on January 5, 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, and the relevant literatures were reviewed.
Results The patient was mainly presented with haematemesis, retrosternal discomfort, and dysphagia. Blood routine examination showed the total number of red blood cells was 2.43×1012/L, and the level of hemoglobin was 69 g/L. Renal function test showed the level of blood urea nitrogen was 35.54 mmol/L, and creatinine level was 1 063.00 μmol/L. Gastroscopy suggested exfoliative esophagitis.
Conclusion If symptoms such as hematemesis, retrosternal discomfort and dysphagia appear in a chronic reneal failure patient, we should be aware of the occurrence of exfoliative esophagitis.
