Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the ultrasonic and pathological features of neck kimura′s disease and Castleman disease.

Methods

The clinical, ultrasound and pathological data of 5 patients with neck kimura′s disease and 9 patients with neck Castleman disease who were confirmed by postoperative pathology in the Ultrasonic Department of Qingdao Municipal Hospital from June 2016 to June 2019 were analyzed and summarized.

Results

The ultrasound of neck kimura′s disease and Castleman disease mostly presented a regular morphology, well-defined boundary and homogeneously hypoechoic nodulues. Howerer, in Castleman disease, there were dots and linear hyperechoes in the nodules. The color doppler flow imaging of kimura′s diasese mainly manifested in rich dendritic blood flow, while that of Castleman disease mainly presented in rich peripheral blood flow. The pathology of neck kimura′s disease and Castleman disease showed significant hyperplasia of lymphoid tissue. Kimura′s disease had rich eosinophils and Castleman disease had rich folliculi lymphaticus.

Conclusions

Neck kimura′s disease and Castleman disease have certain specificity in ultrasound and pathology. It is not difficult to make diagnosis and differential diagnosis based on ultrasonographic and pathological features.
